Very quick delivery from Amazon (indigo Starfish.) Received the mouse this morning. Connected to my Vista laptop and started working brilliantly. Did not bother loading the supplied software. I have been using logitech cordless mice so far and liked them always. This one is as good as any I have used before.
This mouse (microsoft 4000) is better in 2 ways:
1. I like the smooth scroll wheel, which feels better and scrolls correct number of lines for me. This is a personal preference. Overall, a great product.
2. Works on my table (wood grains) very smoothly. I needed mouse pad for all earlier mice
The cross hatched part on the side you see in the product photo has a nice soft feel and is not shiny unlike in the photo.
I hope this lasts at least as long as my last logitech mouse and I would be very happy.

blue laser a novelty...excellent mouse.. wireless adapter is tiny and barely noticeable. Mouse works on many surfaces and has excellent response. pleased with purchase.

Exellent device ,comfortable in hand,nano usb , almost disappears in netbook or laptop, it does disappear into mouse, where it is safe and to hand , no/off switch conserves battery

This is a great little mouse. I just received it today so I cannot comment on the battery life but so far so good. The USB dongle is great and I haven't taken it out of my laptop yet. The button to release the usb does need to be pressed harder than I thought. I've tried the mouse on every surface I can find and it has worked without a hitch. I really like the feel of the mouse with the rubbery sides. The buttons don't have a click to them like others but its still a great mouse for my laptop

what would you love about it:
its wireless which i guess is obvious.
it has an (on/off) switch which helps conserve power when not in use.
it works on most surfaces as advertised by microsoft.
its dropped from a height of about 1m with no problems, i could say its quite strong based on that.
you'll prob love the device you plug into a usb port on the pc because of the size.
what you may not like:
contrary to adverts, the battery doesn't last 10months. the battery that came with the device didnt last 3months. I am using my 3rd battery in less than 6months.
The batteries are not rechargeable too.
i'll recommend this to anyone looking for a mobile, relatively prized mouse.
