After my old printer gave up the ghost, I bought this scanner/printer combination. It gives excellent results and although I don't use it that often, I don't have to clean the heads every time. My old one used more ink in head cleaning than actual printing. This one is very good.

As my old Lexmark had run out of ink, it made economic sense (albeit not very green-minded sense) to buy a new printer, rather than fork out £40 for two new ink cartridges.
The HP C4780 met my chief requirements - wireless and fast printing, and seemed reasonably priced here on Amazon.
Delivery was quick - just 3 days, even though I took advantage of the free delivery service. The setup process was an absolute doddle with the wireless handshake established effortlessly. Print quality is noticeably better than my old Lexmark and extremely quick on the ink-saver setting (which is perfectly adequate for casual print jobs). Photos print very well on the samples of 6x4 photo paper supplied, and the memory card interface makes it nice and easy to print your images without bothering with PC software. I must have printed around 150 pages to date and still no sign of the low ink warning. Only downside I can think of is that occasionally paper can be misfed, resulting in a few wasted sheets, and the cost of genuine HP replacement cartridges is fairly high. On the whole though, the C4780 has definitely met my expectations and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
